Event - Summer Study with Dori Barber

Have you ever felt the heel in your face of someone climbing and competing in the culture in which you live, work or serve? Many of us have been in that exact place and wondered how we could follow God when the water we swim in is a study in self-promotion, zero-sum games and behind the back talking. Yet, the words of scripture were not spoken to people in perfect families, women whose bosses were their biggest fan or to the lucky ones living the easy life their Instagram depicts for us. Throughout the Bible we find illustrations and encouragement for times and systems defined by shame demarcated by suspicion. You are not alone. Your agency may feel limiting because it is limiting, yet you still have choices to make. God has not deserted you.

Join us as we look for words of wisdom and examples of excellence to remind us that we haven't been given a spirit of fear. We can move forward led by Christ to courageous and genuine, forgiven and forgiving.
