Family Promise is a ministry that transforms the lives of families experiencing homelessness. Their mission is help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. Nationwide, Family Promise has provided shelter, meals, case management, homelessness prevention and stabilization services to nearly 1 million family members.
Families commit to follow Family Promise guidelines for a 90 day period. During that time, they will be have a place to sleep at night and are responsible for searching for a job or going to work until their 90 day program is completed.

At The Woodlands United Methodist Church, we provide 4 weeks of shelter for Family Promise families every year. Using our Student Ministry space, we provide rooms for the families to sleep and eat in during each of those 4 weeks. Our volunteers provide breakfast and dinner along with a variety of other activities for the families while they stay with us.
