The Rev. Don Meador grew up in the small town of South Houston, just east of Hobby Airport. He holds degrees from Texas Tech University and the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. He was ordained in 1966 and began a 40-year ministry in the United Methodist Church. During that time he served as an associate pastor and later pastor in several churches in Texas. For seven years he served as district superintendent of the Longview District. His last appointment was at John Wesley UMC in northwest Houston where he served as senior pastor for six years before retiring in June 2006. The Rev. Meador and Kay, his wife, have been married since 1969. Kay is from Bay City, Texas. She is a retired teacher and also served as a director of Christian education in several churches. They have two grown sons, Mark, who lives in The Woodlands, and Todd, who lives in Austin. Todd and his wife, Hollie, recently added much joy to the Meador family with the arrival of their son, Micah.
