Quest Men’s Fellowship
Quest is in its tenth year. It meets for eight weeks in the fall and for eight weeks immediately after the new year. Over 250 men attend on Tuesday mornings and another 200 meet on Sunday evenings. Rev. Rob Renfroe teaches the sessions. No need to register. Just show up. We have a place for you.
Tuesdays: 6:00 – 7:00 a.m, in Wesley Hall, with breakfast for $5.00.
Sundays: 7:00 – 8:15 p.m., in Wesley Hall.
Spring 2012: You Asked For It!
Rob Renfroe will be answering eight of the most challenging questions the men of Quest have asked him to address. Topics range from the theological (What happens to people who never hear about Jesus?) to the practical (Why is it so hard to communicate with my wife?) to the controversial (What should Christians think about homosexuality?)
Choose either Sunday evenings starting January 15, or Tuesday mornings beginning January 17. No sign-up necessary.
Fall 2011: Hero
Our theme this fall is Hero. Inside every man there is a desire to be more than he is and to do more than he has ever done. There is within every male heart the yearning to live a life that in some significant way is truly heroic.
This fall we will repeat a feature that guys have enjoyed in the past: each week’s theme will be based on a movie that is available through Netflix or Blockbuster. You’ll be given the movie titles beforehand so you can watch the movie in preparation for each session. We will connect each movie hero with one of the heroes we find in the Bible to discover the traits that cause men to live extraordinary lives that bring glory to God.
Winter 2011: What I Know for Sure
Part of maturity is realizing how complex life is and how it’s often wise simply to say, “I don’t know,” (the three most difficult English words for the American male to pronounce.) However, those few things that are most important for a life that matters, relationships that are good and a legacy that honors and pleases God—these things we can be certain of.
Fall 2010: A Place To Stand
It seems that we live in a world that’s giving way. Things we have counted on are falling apart or slipping away. Work is tougher, our families need us more, and the pressures we face are greater than ever. And men are looking for a place to stand that’s solid and sure—and that will not let them down. This series will empower you with the truths you need to stand strong and to overcome in the most difficult of times.
Winter 2010: Quest Goes to the Movies
Each week in Wesley Hall we will look at the biblical themes that speak to the lives of men contained in movies such as: Groundhog Day, Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Gran Torino, The Bucket List and others. One movie per week.
Fall 2009: Giants in the Land
Every man has one. Most of us have several. They stand over us. They intimidate us. They make us feel small and ill-equipped. They are giants and they cast a long shadow over everything we hope to achieve.
Giant disappointments. Giant failures. Giant challenges. Giant losses. And the resulting loneliness, fear and self-doubt.
Giants cannot be avoided. But they can be defeated. This fall Quest will focus on the mighty men of God who conquered the giants they faced. And together we will learn how to overcome the giants in our lives.
