Refresh: A Women's Weekend of Spiritual Renewal

A Lingering Look at the Authentic Expression of the Psalms

Join us for fellowship, worship and the outstanding teaching of Old testament Biblical scholar, Dr. Sandra Richter.

Dr. Sandra Richter is the Robert H. Gundry professor of Biblical Studies at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. Her singular goal as a teacher is to make the real people, real places, and real faith of the great story of Redemption come alive for her students. She is internationally known for her book The Epic of Eden: A Christian Entry into the Old Testament (IVP, 2008) and the series of video curriculums birthed from it (published with Seedbed and Zondervan).

Having served 20 years as an academic, Sandy’s great gift to the Church is her ability to take the technical and complex aspects of the academic study of the Old Testament and make them accessible – and completely engaging! – to the layperson. As a result, she is a sought-after speaker in an array of venues – from academic conferences and continuing education for Christian leaders, to church-led Bible conferences and camps. The newest member of the NIV translation committee, and a veteran of Syro-Palestinian field archaeology, Professor Richter is that person who can bring all the tools to bear on the study of the Bible. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Harvard University, she has taught at Asbury Theological Seminary, Wesley Biblical Seminary, and Wheaton College.

Sandy is married to Steven Tsoukalas, also an academic, and has two perfect daughters, Noël and Elise. Her newest curriculum, The Epic of Eden: Jonah, is available now through Seedbed Publishers.
