At-Risk children


Project: Shop for school clothing items for at-risk local children attending schools in our community.

For over 25 years, The Woodlands Methodist Church has been providing back to school clothing for the most vulnerable children in our area. This mission serves kindergarten through high school children identified by school counselors. Volunteers shop for clothing and deliver the purchased items to the appropriate school.

* Shoppers will purchase the clothing items ($150 per elementary student and $200 for Jr./Sr. High students) and then will be reimbursed for all purchases through the Back-to-School fund.

Serve Time: 9:00 a.m. - noon

Total number of volunteers needed: 15


DETAILS

  • 9:00 a.m.: Meet at The Woodlands Campus to receive instructions.
  • Location: Fireside Café – across from indoor playground at north end of Main building on The Woodlands campus


Serve Time: 9:00 am - 12:00pm

Total number of volunteers needed: 15    

Prior to going to shopping on October 5:   

  • Meet at 8:00 a.m. in the Harvest Worship Center for a Kick-off event    
  • Light continental breakfast
  • Pick up T-shirts
  • After the Kick-off, we will meet together in the Columns Cafe prior to shopping

Family Friendly Activity

Childcare is not provided for this offsite activity.    

A fee of $10.00 per person participating in Serve It Up is requested to help cover the cost of the materials for projects.
