Adults’ Bible Study

In the Old Testament Prophets and the Letters of Paul, participants will find common themes, including calls to remember, that identifies God’s people as a community of memory and sets the Prophets and Paul’s writings in historical and geographical context.

In the first half, study the Major and Minor Prophets (except Daniel). The prophets are continually calling hearers and readers back to their God and to a sense of who they are as a people "set apart." Designed to establish the historical context in which the prophets spoke for God, daily reading assignments draw also on the books of Deuteronomy through Chronicles. In the second half, study the New Testament letters traditionally attributed to Paul. Paul is continually calling hearers and readers back to their God and to a sense of who they are as a people "set apart.”
