Media Volunteers

Many services at The Woodlands UMC incorporate technology to add meaning and relevance to each worship experience. In addition to the church’s worship production staff, the Media Department is fortunate to have help from a dedicated team of volunteers who run video cameras, equipment and computers behind the scenes.

Volunteering with the Media Department is easy, and there is no need for previous experience in any area—a Media staff member will gladly show you everything you need to know. You can volunteer to work in any of the following areas:

Cameras

We are always looking for more volunteers to run cameras during the service. While experience is always a plus, it is not a requirement, and most of our volunteers have learned on the job. It's easy to get involved, and it’s a fun and exciting skill to learn.

Tapes Director / Podcasting

Work with the video director and the camera crew to record the service for DVD and weekly online posting. This job is a fun way to get creative in a very low-pressure scenario.

Occasional Opportunities

Fill-in opportunities arise when regular worship production team members are out or assigned to a different area. If you can’t find the time to volunteer consistently but would be willing to be called into action from time to time, send us an email and let us know how you’d like to help.

To volunteer, send an email to our department director, Mike Sims, and let us know how you’d like to be involved.
